The Beginning

Our story began with Moolchand Ji, the man who dreamt in silk, and his grandfather Ushnakmal Ji — a duo bound by vision, artistry, and legacy.

Together, they founded Ushnakmal Moolchand, not merely as a business, but as a tribute to Banaras’ timeless handloom tradition.

From their shared dream was born a heritage that has flowed through generations — each thread carrying their belief that a saree is not just woven, it is brought to life.

The Legacy of Craft

A Heritage Woven Through Generations

RESA by Ushnakmals is more than a brand — it is a living legacy, woven through eight generations of passion, craftsmanship, and heritage.

Our journey began in the late 1800s in Lahore, when Ushnakmal Moolchand laid the foundation of a humble handloom house devoted to purity of silk and perfection of weave.

What started as devotion to craft soon became a symbol of India’s most exquisite textile traditions — adored by royalty, brides, and connoisseurs of art.

In the 1940s, the family moved to Varanasi, the eternal city that became home to their artistry.

Here, their legacy intertwined with the soul of Banarasi weaving — blending centuries-old techniques with timeless elegance.
